I kind of dropped off DW for a bit. First it was the Steam Summer Sale that took me away. I didn't buy a lot of new games as a lot of the games seemed to be older ones that I either had no intention of playing or already owned. I was able to get the Alan Wake bundle, Civ V GOTY and I semi-impulse bought Saints Row 3. I wasn't going to get it, but then I played a bit of it and it was so hilariously stupid that it was good, plus the price was just too good. A regularly priced $60 game for $12 (and the DLCs) was too hard to ignore. It's also co-op, so my boyfriend had a lot of fun playing that.

Which leads into my poor graphics card... I started to get those crazy artifacts on my screen and was sad that my card was dying. It's not terribly old (GeForce GT 9x series), but not super new. It was just the worst time for it. With school coming up I don't exactly have the funds to spend on a new card. I popped a really old Raedon in that couldn't even handle HD movies fullscreen. After unsuccessfully finding any decent cards in back-to-school sales I looked at trying to fix mine. I'd heard of people baking their cards in the oven and having them work after. It's supposed to be a quick fix for re-soldering the circuits. I watched the Youtube vids and figured I had nothing to lose as it was already busted and useless. Let me say it was really weird baking my graphics card. XD I was so scared that I'd over bake it or under bake it. There was a little bit of a weird smell, but no smoke or anything. I let it cool, put it all back together, popped it back into my case and prayed. It worked! I couldn't believe that it actually worked! XD BUT it was running REALLY hot... We were in the middle of a bad heatwave, so I had to still limit my time online. :/ With a little help from my boyfriend we later fixed it and found out the fan wasn't spinning at it's best to keep it cool. So, now it seems to be working like before. :D

And then the Olympics started and sucked me away for 2 weeks! XD

There was also some family crap and issues in between, but they're not as interesting.

Olympic gifs :D )

UGH! Excuse me, but I need to rant about this. When someone is trying to get a hold of me and I tell them that I'm busy at the moment, but I'll call them back later that doesn't mean call me every fucking hour! I didn't forget. I intended to call them back. I'm just FUCKING BUSY! I'm sorry, but not everything revolves around their little problems and I know it can be hard for them to grasp, but sometimes there are things in my life that take priority over theirs. If it's an emergency, then that's something different. Except in this case it's not one. Usually it's a tech support call to fix their computer and 9 times out 10 it turns out to be something ridiculously easy that they could've figured out if they took the time to READ and THINK about it... OMFG! And as I type this, guess what? The phone is ringing AGAIN! I almost don't even want to help them out now. Screw it. I'll do it tomorrow. I'm too pissed off to care now. Unless their computer is on fire I don't give a fuck what's wrong with it. So, I guess the moral of the story is don't piss off your tech support? XD But really, I hate that shit. I'm a pretty patient person, so I don't understand the need to call someone every hour when I know they'll call me back when they're able to. I go do something else and if after a day goes by I'll call back ONCE or sometimes not at all and just find another solution. :/ I understand that people have lives and stuff they need/want to do. And even if I don't think it's as important, I respect that it's important to them.

And uh so this post isn't just a rage fest, I came across some pretty cool fanart for The Avengers. They were done by theDURRRRIAN. It reminds me of the Dragon Age and Final Fantasy art. I like the Iron Man and Hawkeye ones, but they're all pretty awesome. :)

Cool art :) )

A little late, but HAPPY CANADA DAY! █♥█

I tried my hand at nail marbling for the occasion. I think it turned out pretty cool. :) I used some random red polish I had lying around and a pretty sheer pink with gold glitter (NYC Golden Sunset). I think my favourite ones are my pointer finger on my left hand and my right ring and pinky fingers. I freehanded 2 maple leafs too. Strange, but I think the one on my right hand turned out better. I'm right handed, so I thought it would turn out so bad. XD

And I got my Nintendo Club shoelaces a few days ago. :D I forgot all about Nintendo Club since I honestly never use my Wii anymore and I don't normally buy Nintendo games. If I do it's usually used games anyways. But they sent me an email last month to remind me and I had a couple hundred points, so I thought I'd see what they had to offer. Especially since shipping and handling is free! Sadly the Zelda poster set was unavailable. :( I thought about the fans, but I'm so damn klutzy that I probably would never take it out of the box for fear of tearing it... That left me torn between the laces and the 'History of Handheld Systems: Collectible Cards.' Ultimately I chose the laces for their practicality. :P I've yet to lace them up because I can't decide on what pair of shoes to put them on. XD I may see about getting some new ones on sale... I really want some old skool Nike sneakers. Ones with a red swoop like Marty McFly's. :P Fuck power laces. I gots some power-up laces har har!

Happy Toad! )

And lastly, Riot finally released Pulsefire Ezreal! :D I'm not an Ezreal player and I don't own him, but damn that skin is fucking awesome! The coolest part for me is that it evolves as you level. Right now it's 1625 RP and that's at 50% off. That's about $15... And to get Ez it'd pretty much be $20 for the 2800 RP package (1625 for the skin + 975 for the champ) with 200 RP leftover which really isn't much. I've been debating about it because it is on sale and I know that it probably won't go on sale again (if ever) for a VERY long time. The regular price is a whopping 3250 RP. On the other hand, I don't play Ez... I've played him maybe twice. Usually I only buy skins for champs I really like and play often (or if the deal was just too good to pass up on lol). I'll probably pass on it, but most likely I'll regret it down the line heh.

Been feeling ill off and on for the past week pretty much sucks. I have a couple crappy days and think I'm feeling better only to wake up feeling like crap again. :( But I was alright for a while sitting up (as long as I didn't move), so I spent that time making a buttload of League of Legend icons. Yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed. XD I didn't realize how many there were until I was done. I should have figured since there are almost 100 champions and each one has at least 2 skins. :/ I picked my favourite ones. I only really planned to make them for myself, but I thought I might as well stick them up here for anyone that happens to stumble upon it. Credit to all the pictures goes to Riot. I should probably also mention if anyone is interested in trying League of Legends they could sign up here (it's free!) and gives me a referral. ;)

Been playing unusually large amounts of League of Legends lately. For the past couple months I've basically played 2-3 games a day. Considering each game can go from 20-50 minutes, it was reasonable. It's been closer to 4-6 lately.

I like to think that I'm immune to the crap that LoL brings, but I don't think I am. At least not as much as I thought. It's just been making me super irritable lately... And I haven't even been losing all my games. It's about half and half.

I've been getting so annoyed that people don't seem to be able to learn from their mistakes. This is probably why I'll never become a teacher. Or at least a very good one... You got your ass kicked once by diving into a fight outnumbered, so why do it again?? You were caught once because there was no sight on the enemy team, so why would you try it again?? Pings go down for you to retreat, so why did you stick around and die?? I don't have high expectations for the random PUGs, but if something happens to them a few times in the game, why can't they learn to stop doing it? -_-;;

The subreddit has been pissing me off a little too. Getting downvoted because people don't have a sense of humour and LoL is srs bsns is pretty stupid.

Bleh. I wish sometimes the game wasn't so competitive. You can try all you can to take an easy going attitude with it, but eventually you just get annoyed by time wasted vs. actual enjoyment.

At least the hockey game is on tonight. :D

I got an email today from them saying they've added not one, not two, but THREE games to Humble Bundle V! And they're not even crappy (but difficult though) games!

Lone Survivor, Braid and Super Meat Boy! I've actually not had the opportunity to get these games because I didn't buy the bundle for myself when they were in it. I actually bought it as gifts and I have no idea why I didn't get one for me. XD So, I'm super happy. Yay! More games! :D

So, I caught up on all the major E3 conferences yesterday (minus the 3DS because I really don't care about it all that much...) and although I wouldn't say it amazed me like past E3s, but there were a few pleasant surprises on my end.

In terms of "who won E3?" I'd say Ubisoft just inched Sony out by thismuch. I was tempted to take points away for the awfully corny host scripts, but then Joe Miller came out... so... :P Microsoft had to be the worst by far. They barely talked about any games and it was all about how they're basically transforming the 360 into a crappy HTPC. EA was just BO-RING, but then again I am not a fan of EA Sports games and that was like half of their presentation. Nintendo was just middle of the road. I love Mario (who doesn't?) and really it was just a lot of the same old stuff. But they all had something in it for me, so I can't say they were terrible.

There were a few highlights for me. As in, "OMG I NEED THAT GAME NOOOOOW!" XD

I  thought I'd share this little gaming-related story that happened recently. My boyfriend and I spend A LOT of time gaming together. Recently I picked up the Civilization IV bundle edition on sale @ Amazon for $7.50. It was too great a deal to pass up! The sale ended last Monday though. :( Anyways, we've been hooked playing. I mean, we're tearing through CivFanatics learning strategies and dipping our toes into the different mods. We played a campaign being on the same team and needless to say we stomped the AIs.

This time we decided to duke it out together (with AIs). He chose Justinian I (Byzantium) because he wanted to rush religion. I chose England (Victoria) because I thought I could expand quickly in early game and push my luck to finding valuable resources, so I could rake in the cash. I hadn't decided which victory I was going for and pretty much made it up as I went along.

The world ended up being 2 huge continents. I was in the middle of one with the Aztecs below. The last time I rushed military, but I thought I'd take it easy this time. I tried to make friendly with them, but they didn't like me too much because I was too close to their territory. :/ My boyfriend was north-west of me (I had no idea until halfway through the game) with the Egyptians occupying the north-east. For some reason they liked me, so we were pretty happy with our alliance. Also, my boyfriend and I decided to have an alliance throughout the game because we don't really directly compete against each other. It's just how we play.

I went along with my business until the Aztecs declared war on me. I wasn't really prepared because I was just setting up my military production machine cities and was going to attack him. It was a bit of a struggle and he captured 2 of my cities which put me behind a bit. In the end I flattened him with my Red Coats. :D Meanwhile, my boyfriend was declaring war on my Egyptian friends because they frankly were taking over the north leaving him with little breathing room. He was victorious as well.

At this point I had already one legendary city (London) and another was more than halfway there (York), so I thought I'd go for a cultural victory which is getting 3 cities to legen- wait for it- dary status. :P I was micro managing cranking out the culture as best as I could and trying to get those Great Artists made (they can instantly add 4000 culture to a city). While my boyfriend had decided to go for a space victory. He was further along and was about halfway done his spaceship, so I thought I'd make that my back up plan since I had some cities (like my production military ones) that weren't much use for the culture victory. I think I had about 12 cities because I took over all the Aztec ones. I renamed them Canadian cities because for the life of me I couldn't remember the other names.

So, we're racing along trying to get our victories done when a UN vote pops up. I had forgotten that I was the one who built The United Nations wonder. I looked over my choices and saw the Diplomatic victory, so I picked that trying my luck. My boyfriend (sweetheart that he is) kept voting me in whenever it popped up. The other 2 civilizations left were the Celts and Sumerians over on the other continent. They didn't like me very much and kept abstaining. So, I was always about 20-30 votes off from winning. I tried to trade and play nice with the other nations, but never got to a place where they voted for me. It must've popped up at least a dozen times and every time I picked the diplomatic victory option. I'd vote for myself and my boyfriend would vote for me, but it wouldn't be enough. I didn't pay much attention to it after awhile because I was so busy micro-managing my cities pushing for that cultural victory.

There were about 40 turns left in the game. My boyfriend had just sent off his spaceship. I had one turn till York reached legendary and about 10 for my next city, Nottingham. I was certain he would discover space before I could get my 3rd city to legendary, but when York went legendary it was funny to see him sweat a little. :P Another UN election popped up and I automatically pressed the Diplomatic Victory option. Like we'd done the past dozen times I voted for me and he voted for me. And then... I got it! XD I won the game! LOL It took him a minute to figure out what happened. It was so funny. He said he hadn't been reading what he was voting for and just kept voting me lol. He said he was TWO turns away from winning too. XD I said he would've won anyways because I was about 8. It was just so funny because the total game play hours of that game was 13! 13 hours only to end up with him accidentally giving me the victory right before he was going to win! XD

I've been thinking of doing a LP (or two). Not for any real purpose other than because it looks like fun. And partially because my boyfriend likes watching me play games and watches LPs before going to sleep. I don't know what I'd do though. I thought of doing an adventure game  (I've had to urge to play The Longest Journey), but I'm a bit of a slow reader and how awful would that be listening to me mumble dialogue?  XD I  could go through my SNES roms, but uh, they may turn into 'how long until I rage?' games hah. Thinking about it. :P

I also had this awesome idea for making an amigurumi Portal turret. I'll need to dig up some yarn and try it out. :)

Clearly I'm not cut out to be a writer or anything of that sort... I forgot all about this. >_>  <_< And I  just re-read my "intro" post and I sound like I was heavily sedated or something. Maybe I  was...  XD Who knows?

I noticed I also contradicted the fuck out of myself too lol. No opinions?  Me?  What the fuck was I on??  Srsly... Especially since most of it was an opinion... -_-;;;;;

BAH!

Still watching Game of Thrones even if I am a couple episodes behind... I got behind reading the books, so I'm actually pretty on par with the series which is kinda weird. I'll read a bit, then watch it and then get horrible deja vu getting confused with the parts I read vs. watched hah.

I admit I watched American Idol semi-regularly. I skipped most of the boring parts with the judges and Ryan chatting. I didn't watch most of the results show or just skipped right to the end. I mostly watched it because Phil reminded me of some musically inclined friends I used to know and I was curious how far he could go. :P

I'm completely and utterly biased when it comes to The Avengers movie. Yes, I'm a Joss Whedon fan. Yes, I love crossovers. And yes, I have crazy thoughts that the last showdown fight was Joss' way of filming the Angel apocalypse that never was. XD And I'm super excited that the blu-ray/dvd combo is set for an end of September release!  :D

I'm also excited for the return of Suits and Franklin and Bash this summer!

I have a huge game backlog and with Steam's summer sale on the horizon I know it's only going to get worse... Been playing Diablo 3 like crazy! Although, I am a little bored with the replay value and having a broken AH isn't much fun. I'm hoping this next patch fixes some the issues. I still love it and will continue to play the crap out of it though. ;) It's been leaving me little time to play League of Legends, but then that's not always a bad thing. I play 1-2 games a day. Depends on the free champs tbh. I haven't played WoW since I mentioned it last heh. I played more Rift than it. I think I'm all MMORPG'd out. The timesinks and grinding for the amount of entertainment that I get out of it doesn't feel worth it. Not to mention the money... I  don't mind paying, but it feels a bit much to pay +$50 for the game itself and then $10-15 monthly fee on top of it. I've been paying playing for years and this structure has always irked me a bit. *shrugs* I know some game will be released that I want to play and I'll do it again though. :P

And every once in awhile I go through a Kpop phase. Been listening to BIG BANG's Blue. Kind of surprised me.  It's catchy and relaxing. :) I  don't get involved with the fandom and just watch/listen from my corner here on the interwebs.

That's it. Not super exciting, but the best I  can do at 9 in the morning. And it's not like anyone really cares or reads this lol.

Eh, so it's been bugging me that this has been empty. I honestly don't have much to say/write right now. I've kind of abandoned other blog-like outlets. Sure, I've got opinions, but I'm just not all that interested in stating them. Which I realize is ironic because this is an opinion in itself lol.

I'm not really involved in any fandoms. I watch/read/play things, but nothing that I would get heavily involved with outside of the original content. I suppose I could say something about them, but I honestly don't have much to say heh. I like them and I think they're cool. Or I don't really like it and I wish it was better. Those about the 2 opinions I've got. Haha now I've painted the picture of a really boring person. XD I am pretty introverted though. I do prefer to observe and be all thoughtful. :/

I prefer not to talk about my life online. 1) It's boring as fuck that even the people who do know me only think it's mildly interesting. 2) It's a little weird. I mention things, but a play-by-play is too intrusive for me.

Hm, things I have been doing so it doesn't seem like I have no interests... Been playing WoW after "quitting" several months ago. The reasons for playing aren't really important, but it wasn't for new content. I wasn't aware of 4.3 until maybe a few weeks ago heh. Being an ex-RPer transmog is cool and finally gives me a reason to actually use all these sets I've made in WoW Model Viewer. It kinda sucks that you can only wear cloth-to-cloth, leather-to-leather, and so on. The cloth items are the best in the game for female characters and some of the lower level mail (like the SM set) is pretty cool. Ah well. Maybe I'll post them here for shits and giggles.

Aside from WoW I got a bunch of tycoon games. I don't really know why. I guess I felt like being on a power trip? XD I liked Tropico 3 and 4 is pretty fun too. It's kinda the same, but with better graphics, better interface and some more options and campaigns. That's not a bad thing though. Good improvements all around. I played a bit of Airport Tycoon 2 (I think that's what it's called). I uh pretty much suck at it. I must be doing something wrong. I'll give it try again some other time.

I can't afford Skyrim. :( With the holidays coming up I've got other things to spend my money on, namely gifts. I don't mind. I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it. I don't mean the game itself, but from the video I've seen of it the motion blur or bloom affect that's used made me pretty nauseous. It can probably be turned off, but it's made me feel better about not playing it. :P

I ordered a Tamagotchi. XD Short story, when they were all the rage about 12 years ago- wait, 12??? I'm not THAT old. *calculates* No... that would be about right. Damn. Anyways, one of my friends brought hers to school and showed us it. She was the first to get it and it wasn't widely accepted at my school. Half the kids in the class thought it was awesome and the other thought it was lame. The teachers hated it heh. I thought it was awesome and I was so jealous. I of course added it to my kid wishlist and when my birthday came around that's all I wanted. Of course Toys R Us was constantly sold out of them and every time they got a new shipment in they'd sell out lightning fast. Not to mention they weren't exactly cheap. IIRC they were around $60. Needless to say I never got one. Recently got this urge to buy one, so I did. :D It should be here next week!

I've been reading through A Game of Thrones. I did see the HBO series first and that's what got me interested in reading it. I'll admit to that. I also did put off watching it for the longest time. Not for any particular reason other than getting around to it. It wasn't a priority or anything. I love the world and lore it takes place in. I wanted to know more, so I'm reading the books. I'm still in parts that were shown in the series, so for me I haven't gotten to the "new" content. I'm actually really excited about it. It's been awhile since I got interested in an ongoing books series.

I did catch up on Project Runway and ugh... I've just about had it with it. Not just PR, but all those reality contest type shows. At first they're fun and the people who win were so very talented. As they go on it's all about ratings and drama to keep people interested. Even if that means fixing the vote and the best person doesn't win. It gets too political for me. But then I still watch it because I'm a voyeur of drama... >_> <_< I don't watch singing comp shows though. I watched some of the X-Factor when it was in auditions. I really could care less at this point who wins. That's what happens, I just stop caring. It's either clear who is going to win or I know the right person won't win, so why bother? I could get into my opinion on that, but I'll save it for another day. :P

I think I've gone on long enough here. This was a strange "intro" post. I honestly was just tired of having this empty space here. It needed words. It was giving me the sad puppy dog face and I just had to comply.

Not to mention LJ is under constant DDoS attacks. I haven't been using my LJ much over there anyways, but I might have had some intention before. Now? Not likely. It's too often an occurrence over there that it's become unreliable. I'll pretty much check on the comms there I check in at until they get some sense and move somewhere else. Not necessarily here, but anywhere. Or until they close, I guess that's an option too.

Yeah, so, next time I promise to add images to break up all the words lol.
